Compass Rose Design Jewelry, was founded by Creek Van Houten, to make use of an extensive collection of found objects and bits of memory collected over a lifetime. I've been making stained glass and wire wrap jewelry for the last fifteen years with vintage and found objects. Compass Rose Design Jewelry is based in the San Francisco bay area. The inspiration for Compass Rose Design - handmade steampunk jewelry, Victorian and antique button jewelry, is my own long history of gathering storied objects. Everyday treasures are collectors of memories, glimpses into familiar moments in other times, shared life experiences. Keys, coins, watches, treasures and trinkets, mostly collected in Amsterdam and Paris. I love the proces of rediscovering and honoring these stories and the memories within them, renewing them for a new life of your stories.

Compass Rose Design Bridal and Jewelry

In July of 2010, Compass Rose Design created a custom bridal jewelry set for the wedding party of a beautiful bride with a touch of the unconventional, Shelagh in Washington State. Working with existing themes, we did a set of three steampunk pocket watch necklaces and matching earrings with mermaid colored crystal accent beads.
