Made with an original souvenir medal from the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition in San Diego. The fair celebrated the completion of the Panama Canal and served as a showcase for California's recovery from the 1906 earthquake. The medal is dated 1915 and depicts a detailed scene of a magnificent ship making a maiden voyage through the Panama Canal.
