Vintage Post Office Department Ring - Etched Gold
Own a piece of history! The Post Office Department was founded in 1792 with Benjamin Franklin serving as the first postmaster general. The letter carrier logo served as the department seal until the United States Post Office was made an independent agency in 1972 and the eagle became the logo. These genuine antique brass vintage post office uniform buttons are carefully soldered onto a wide etched 24k gold plated band. These uniform buttons, the type visible on the trainman in the photo, have a fabulous patina from actual wear - these buttons date between 1840 and 1920.
